What age is the USB flash drive and part of the process does it die?

first I format the USB drive as fat 32. No files on the desk.

Then I go through the Boot Camp process, at which point Boot Camp format the 
USB drive. After the system fails and I look at the USB drive, it has a number 
of windows files on the desk and it is also labeled with the windows 
installation labor.
