Eileen, Which one did you get, if I may ask? Also, and you probably know this, you first plug the extender into an outlet near the router to pair it up, then you move it to someplace else between the router and the other end of your house or whatever. The name of the network of the extender, on mine at least, is created with the underline ext added to it. So, if your router’s name is MyNetwork, the extender’s network name is MyNetwork_ext. It’s got the same security as my router does, and you need the same password as the main router to get in. My master bedroom is way in the back of the house, and my main router is in my office in the front. Before I got the extender, I was only getting one or two bars on my iPod located in the bedroom, but after I put the extender, located in our dining room in the middle of the house, my iPod signal strength went up to three bars.
