sometimes I have trouble when I plug a memory stick or card into my Mac because my Mac doesn't see it at first. even if it doesn't have a name it should say "noname" or the maker of the memory stick or some such thing. if you press command-shift-C and arrow up and down and still don't hear anything like that then unplug it and plug it right back in again. wait 5 or 10 seconds and look around again. if you can't find anything at all then to my knowledge that means your computer's not seeing it.
