Or likely it is the opposite, so check that.

Mark,

I’ve been riding with Uber for a number of years now, and I’m eligible for what
they call “Priority support”. They’ve been extremely good with me when I’ve
reported other issues, so this morning I sent them a contact form and described
the issue about no longer being able to read ETA info with Voiceover. I’ll
report back when I hear from them, so no need to try going over to your Uber
center now unless it’s on your way to or from somewhere.

Hello Pete,

Thank you for the great info.

So, I have asked 4 people today, in the Los Angeles area, none of whom use
VoiceOver, but who do use Uber, to attempt to schedule a ride in advance. None
of them could locate the button you mentioned in your post.

We can all see the various ride options but nowhere is there a schedule in
advance button.

All of us are using iOS 13.x 2 people on iPhone 11s and 2 on iPhone X and of
course me and my beloved 8 Plus.

There is an Uber ride center not far from here. Perhaps I'll stop by there in
the next day or so and talk to someone.

While I have no problem believing that my particular app is corrupted or
something, I find it much more difficult to think that 4 others in this area
are having the same issue.

Mark

Subject: Re: A Question to VoiceOver Uber Riders

I have iOS 13.1.2 on an iPhone 7, and I just used Uber a few days ago as well.
You’re right, for whatever reason, you can’t use VO to get to the ETA info any
longer. What does happen, however, is that when the info is updated, I do hear
VO say, like ETA 5 minutes, then ETA 4 minutes, etc. Also, and it’s not too
convenient I know, they send an alert when your driver is 1 minute away, and
another when the driver arrives.

As for scheduling a ride in advance, the way it works is that you type in your
destination address first, then get to the ride selection screen where you
decide if you want Uber X, XL, etc. You can then tap on the Schedule a Ride in
Advance button, and the screen does change for you. If you swipe to the right,
you’ll run into a series of picker items, the first being the day (Today by
default), and if you swipe up on the picker item the day will change. Swipe
right, and you will get to select the hour, minutes, and AM or PM. Keep swiping
right after the AM/PM picker item, and you should hear a cancel button, then
the set pickup time button.

It works on my admittedly somewhat older iPhone 7, but hopefully this will help
you get going on yours.

Hello All,

The other day I scheduled an on-demand ride with Uber using iOS 13.x
on my 8 Plus.

Try as I may, I could not get VoiceOver to read the estimated time of
pick-up, even though it was clearly being updated on the screen. For
example, the display was saying 5 minutes away, 3 minutes, away, etc.

Question: Am I missing something? Can VoiceOver not read this area
of the display? If not, it is quite a shame.

Perhaps there is an Apple Watch complication that will update as the
car gets closer to the pickup location?

Question 2:
Has anyone been able to schedule a ride, in advance, say 2 hours in
the future, using the Uber app for iOS?

I have read, on the Uber website that this is a feature of the app
but, try as I may, I cannot get the feature to display, either with or without
VoiceOver being enabled. The only way, so far, that I can even see the
feature is to logon to the Uber website, itself; and I have no
intention of using the website to schedule rides, if I can avoid it.

All replies greatly appreciated.
