Why did you have to take your machine in to an apple store to get the OS reinstalled?
That should be something you can do yourself. As for your password, If the OS was completely installed by the store rather than updated by them then they will have to tell you what your password is. Or if you have your mac set to have or allow your apple id to reset the password for the machine then you could do it through your apple id, Or if you are comfortable with the Mac OS then you could Start your machine up on to a USB Flash drive Or into the recovery console using from power off, Command plus R Then under the utilities menu open the terminal Type in "resetpassword" Then in this password reset window you will have any user accounts setup on the machine available and be able to reset the password for it.
