Hello,
This problem is now solved. You select the desired contact and do 1 finger
double tap to open it. You then do a 1 finger double tap on the edit button.
Then the step I was missing … do a 3 finger flip up near the bottom of the
screen to get to the end of the possible edit options where you will see a
delete button near the bottom of the screen. Do 1 finger double tap on this and
then 1 finger double tap on the confirm button. It was not obvious to me that
there were more edit options beyond the initial edit screen.,
Best regards … Paul Hopewell

Hello Tim,
Many thanks for your reply. Contacts are set on in iCloud on my iPhone but the
contact I cannot delete is not synced. Other contacts are synced. Possibly
significant is that this is a 10 year old contact which has been migrated over
3 iPhones and numerous levels of IOS. I want to delete it as the person died
some time ago.
Could I do anything useful with a bluetooth keyboard?
Many thanks for your many helpful contributions to macvisionaries…. Paul
Hopewell
