Yes you should be able to do this without issue, Teams is part of office 365 which integrates with sharepoint a collaboration tool.
You can save a document in to teams and then share it with your particular team Then so long as you have an office 365 account which I’m assuming you have as your using teams, You will be able to access the shared documents and co author them with your team mates, The system also shows who made any changes through the version library that sharepoint saves behind the teams interface It’s very good and I’ve found it great for accessibility Just note that to share documents you will also need to have ms office 365 applications word excel power point etc on your device so that the sharing works better otherwise it will want to use the online cloud versions of the office 365 suite.
