Hello Donna, After downloading the latest TV OS user guide from Apple Books, I have determined that the fact that I cannot reliably close apps via the App Switcher when Follow Focus is selected, is a VoiceOver bug.
Since my last post, I was able, albeit unreliably, to close apps via the switcher using the expected gestures. I will send a bug report to Apple on this.
