Hello Phil,

I do as follows:
1. Listen to the point where to start selection and press CMD + y and then m.
2. Listen further to the point where to end selection and press CMD + y.
3. I then press CMD + Arrow left to select to the previous marker.

If I then press Space I only hear the selected part of the audio.

Just a helpful hint: After pressing CMD + Arrow left I press CMD + z to remove 
the set marker. The selection won’t be deleted but the marker. That prevents 
Amadeus and myself from selecting accidentally parts which I don’t want to have 
selected. In the past it happened that I or Amadeus confused to which marker to 
jump because there were to many in the audio.
