First and foremost, I want to say “Thanks” to each of the responses to my original inquiry. I appreciate the good intentions of all concerned.
However, none of the points raised factor in this problem. I typically have only 3 or 4 apps running at any given time; Finder, E-Mail, Checkbook Pro and Safari. Very rarely do I ever run more apps than the previously mentioned four apps. As for memory, I have a 1 Terabyte hard drive with hardly more than 20% of the available disk space used. I only turn off this Mac when severe weather is forecast so if routine disk maintenance is being done, it isn’t degraded by a “power off” condition. In fact, while replying to this thread I had that dreaded “E-Mail is not responding” message. And, oh yes, I do have anti-virus running in the background all the time. I realize that might account for some performance drag, but this “Application is not responding” message is occurring much too often. * * * * * * * * * * * * - Bill from Ino, Wisconsin - "You must be the change you want to see in the world." - Mahatma Gandhi -- The following information is important for all members of the Mac Visionaries list.
