Microsoft 365 can be configured so that only Outlook can access Exchange Online for the e-mail and calendar. In that case, using Apple Mail is not an available option unless the setting is changed by the Microsoft 365 administrator. Hi, Yes I use outlook as well - because I work at a university and we use office 365 - when we switched to this there was something about it not being an exchange account anymore so Mac mail didn’t work - but can’t remember why - it might be something to do with authentication - and it might work again now I switched a while ago. One thing I would say is that with outlook you have two choices a webmail client or a desktop version - I find the desktop version much easier to use - but it does have a few limitations but these relate to things like creating groups - and this could also be linked to the settings enabled by the employer. So this was a bit of a ramble but really just want to echo that it does work and actually fairly well.
