For things of that length I usually convert to text and read in TextEdit. I’ve never had a problem with that.

I have large Word files from my Windows computer. These files take a lot of time loading on Mac when I open them on Word. With Pages and Text Edit, I am facing a strange problem. I prefer to read paragraph by paragraph. But whenever Voiceover encounters a page break, it starts reading character by character. I have taking this issue to Apple Accessibility and they have not been able to help. My Word documents are 300 to 400 pages long. Can anyone please advise?
