Yes, I’ve found them in the archives, which I would expect, as gmail works that 
way. However the menu and keyboard functions to move from junk to inbox are 
just non-functional. I don’t have a non-gmail account to use for a test, 
however.

Gmail does not internally use a folder like structure, so IMAP which does think 
of email as having folders can on occasion act strangely. This is especially 
the case if you ever followed instructions to make older Macintosh Mail 
software work more saintly with Gmail by modifying IMAP settings for Gmail  in 
the past. I believe I sent a message to MacVIsionaries about 10 years ago with 
an article from Tidbits.com giving ways to make mail work better with Gmail. 
All of those issues were corrected directly by Google and Apple in the 
following year.
