Nektarios,

Make certain that trackpad commander is turned on.  This can be accomplished in 
VO utility or by pressing control-option while rotating two fingers on the 
trackpad clockwise.  rackpad commander can be disabled by pressing the vo keys 
and rotating counter clockwise.  If you're like me and rest your palms on the 
trackpad while typing you may want to do this so as to avoid unintended focus 
changes.
