If the iPod touch recognizes the file(s) you are playing as an audiobook, then
there is an option to do this. In the now playing screen, there is a button
entitled "playback speed". By default, it is set to normal and will inform you
of such. Double-tapping this button will set it to double, double-tapping it
again will cut the speed to half the original, and double-tapping it yet again
will return it to normal. I hope this in some way helps nudge you along the
pathway of success!

Hi,
While we're on this topic, can you play audiobooks at double speed on the Ipod
Touch, if so, how?
