Hi Anne, that trick works for me in the regular menu bar (for example if I press VO plus M). However it doesn't seem to work in a VoiceOver menu. For example if I press VO plus U (in Safari) and then press LEFT ARROW plus UP ARROW it only pings at me. It doesn't seem to work in the VVO help menu either. Am I doing something wrong? Thanks Frank

It will cycle through Navigation, Words, and Characters. These settings control the function of the up and down arrows in Quick Nav.
