Do you really want to turn that alert off?  I ask this because the insertion 
point notification affects where new text or deletions take place.

I haven't gotten skilled at controlling how to insert words or characters at 
will in a stream of entry.  I feel still as though I am being swept along by a 
river when I type in a VoiceOver driven feedback situation and can't break the 
flow to maneuver.
