There are 2 things I can think of to try.  First try control clicking and try 
quick look after which you might be able to save it out as whatever you want.  
Another option is to try control clicking and then open with. When opening 
these files with TextEdit, there may be jibberish at the top and bottom of the 
page that you might have to erase out.  Hope this helps and maybe others have 
ideas too.
