hello; there is a person who sends me photos. they will never open. I have to use the save attachments feature and then use command i to correct the file extensions. once i change his .jpg src= to just .jpg they work just fine. perhaps you could try saving them and then renaming them from dat to doc. i mean you know they are doc files? good luck, max

There are 2 things I can think of to try. First try control clicking and try quick look after which you might be able to save it out as whatever you want. Another option is to try control clicking and then open with. When opening these files with TextEdit, there may be jibberish at the top and bottom of the page that you might have to erase out. Hope this helps and maybe others have ideas too.
