Ok, how do I erase my iTUNES music library in order to get that question?
Is it sufficient to erase the folders that contain the .m4a files? Many thanks.

Hi George:
When you plug your iPod into the computer, you should get a dialog
saying you have some things on your iPod that are not on your computer.
It will ask if you want to transfer. The other thing you could do is
to reinstall iTunes and start from scratch by doing the transfer from
the iPod to the new library. You can then add any of those lost files
by bringing them over from your PC on a flash drive.
There are some good articles and tutorials on iLounge.com about iTunes.

A couple of things come to mind here. You can bring up those files in
windows explorer, particularly the ones that don't work, and copy them
into a folder or even onto the desktop, then add them to iTunes
library. The other things is to rebuild the library from the iPod and
then sync with the iPad. I don't know if this will be helpful. But,

For about a year ago I replaced my hard drive and copied all my music
from the old one with same structure to the new one where it was in the
old iTunes music library and I never added anything to it, all are
folders with subfolders with files ending with .m4a extention that I
ripped when I had the old drive. Although no files are missing I cannot
