First, I would like to thank everyone who worked so hard to help me figure out the problem I was having with having people's names spoken as they came and went from Skype. while an announcement can be interupted by Alex if he's reading anything else, I did hear enough of two different people coming and going to be satisfied that everything is working properly. While I'm not precisely sure what I did to fix the problem, I think it had to do with disabling visual notifications. I have also turned Growl off. In any event, thanks again and it's all working well.
