Hey Larry. It sounds to me like you're expecting a bit too much out of this operating system. Remember, Lion only got released last Wednesday so of course there would be bugs and what not to work out. Now I admit that I haven't used a Mac until last year, but I could imagine how many bugs Snow Leopard had when it first got released. In my mind, Lion isn't any different. As for Voice Over doing freaky pitch changes, I only experience those when using the Nuance voices. I still use Samantha for the rest of my activities but when I check my email I have Alex read them out. I've already sent in that report to Apple Accessibility so I encourage you and whoever else on this list to do the same. In the meantime, be patient. I'm sure a software update is around the corner.
