It's pretty simple.

depending on whether your email provider has it's own saved folder or work, etc 
you can drop those emails to the directory, then open mail in mac, build your 
account, then when it's up and running, your emails should come accross. if 
not, then it's time to make another email acount and export the enails through 
copy and paste to the other account and then create the 2nd account in mail, 
then drag the important emails to your current email account.
