When did you add it? Sometimes I find I have to close mail or address book or 
bvice versa for then to catch up lwith each other on re-opening.
You can, of course, add a new contact manually. Lots  of  interaction   needed 
but you can get to the necessary email field where you could petepaste  in the 
address.
