Hi Jason,
Welcome to the list. My name is Sarah. I'm from St. Paul, Minnesota, U.S.A. Wow, you have only been blind for nine years? You are adapting very well. I have been visually impaired since I was born, but had pretty good useable vision until I lost most of it around the age of twelve/thirteen. I still have a little remaining vision left but it isn't very functional. I received a Macbook Pro for my birthday last year. I checked out the I-Phone last year at my local Apple store. I have some dexterity issues with my fingers and didn't find the phone to be real user friendly because of that. The Apple TV sounds awesome with you being able to access the menus and all that independently with no sighted assistance. I am unable to access the menus on my TV, or access the On Demand features that my cable company provides, because of how the menus are set up. Can you tell me more about Apple TV and how it works? Is it a software that you can put on any television/ or flat screen TV that you own? I know I've seen posts about the APple TV on the list here, but didn't think anything of it because I didn't have it. If you could tell me more about it I'd appreciate it. Jason, I admire, respect, and appreciate those who serve our country. My Dad served in the navy for four years during Vietnam. My boyfriend also served in the navy for ten years and was discharged when he got out as an E6 Petty Officer. I always thought if I had vision that I would have followed in my Dad's footsteps and enlisted in the navy. My brother thought of enrolling as a JAG officer after law school but he has some health issues that prevented him from doing so. So I was engrained in my family that it is important to serve your country. Well, I hope you will find the list beneficial. I have learned a lot myself from being on the list here and everyone is very helpful and nice. Have a great day!
