Veronica, Having no idea who your mail provider is or anything along those lines I have a question or two. First do you have to use pop? I have not used pop in a very long time so I cannot comment on whether there is any issues with Apple mail and pop servers. Is the pop server using standard pop on port 110 or something like APop which is a secure version of pop. Of course as a side note, pop sends passwords in the clear and is truly insecure. I forget which port APop sits on. I'm assuming you have the proper server name such as smtp.example.com, but assuming all of this have you looked at the Connection DOctor screen to see if there are any messages and if so did you see any messages that might indicate a problem with outbound connections? Sorry I have not been paying close attention to all the threads rolling through here.
