In the VoiceOver Help menu, you can hear all the sounds that VoiceOver makes and what they mean. If it's not in there, it is stored on your hard drive and you can find it. I believe there are sounds folders in ~/library/system/sounds and /library/system/sounds up one level from the user accounts, at the root.
