RSS is a data format called Really Simple Syndication. The file usually has a rolling log of the latest articles from a site including basic stuff like title, author, date and some or all of the article text. With an RSS feed reader tool you can then quickly browse through the feed to find out what's new on the site. There is a competing standard called Atom which some say is better but they both do the same kind of thing.

Hi Mary, I don't know what it stands for so someone else can chine in there but
the best way I can describe it to you is that if you have a favourite website
e.g. a blog and they have an RSS on that site then if you clicked on that RSS
link or whatever element the RSS happens to be, it will put it into your RSS
programme so you would be getting updates from the website but through the
programme. In other words as long as the feed doesn't brake in the future, you
don't even need to go to the website you can just view it in your RSS programme.
I hope that makes sence. LOL

Hello,

I use one called Vienna, and I like it a lot. I'm very interested to find an
RSS reader that I can use both on the Mac, and the iDevices, though.
Suggestions?

Thanks,
Brianna
