Hi.
Another alternative to both stanza and Adobe is iText Express, free on the Mac 
App Store.
I know that this app can read ePub formatted ebooks, but not books that you 
have purchased in iBooks it's self. I'm not sure what other formats it can read.
Give it a try, its free.
