Someone said iTunes didn't need to be open to access the media, is this not
true?

remote?

Hi,

First,as mentioned by Daniel, make sure that all Libraries on your Macs and
ATVs have all been added to your Home Sharing network. I'm guessing that
this has most likely been done since you have been using your Apple TV to
access content from your Mac.

Now, youneed to download the Remote app from the iTunes Store onto your
iPhone. Once downloaded, open it and you can then connect to various iTunes
Libraries such as the one on your Apple TV or, actually, even the ones on
any Macs within your Home Sharing network. Just use iPhone gestures on the
iPhone to access and manipulate the media within the desired Library. So,
what you basically can do is control the media playback of your Apple TV or
any iTunes Library that is open on any Mac within your Home Sharing network.

HTH.

Wow, I had no idea I could use my iPhone to control appleTV. I tried to
understand how I would go about this through these emails, but I got lost.
Where would I get started. I'd appreciate someone pointing me in the right
direction. All this time I haven't been using the apple TV because I can't
figure out how to use the remote that came with the apple TV device. I just
ask the kids to do it for me.

Thanks,

Christina
