Hi, yes. You would. You would first need to go into iTunes preferences and under advanced, uncheck that option to copy added media to your iTunes folder. After that, you just add your movies to iTunes from your external drive like you would anything else. But, instead of copying the movies to your internal drive, or where ever your iTunes media folder happens to be located, iTunes will play the content directly from the external drive.
