Hello Anne,
I guess it depends upon the volume you want to O C R. Using desk-top
applications gives more power and options. Fine Reader is also very
good. I can't remember which O C R engine is used by Prizmo. It may be
Fine Reader at the back end.
But I was just asking as I have a new Mac and when I heard Fine Reader
was reduced in price. I purchased it but intend upon trying it with a
iDevice before I look at buying a dedicated scanner / camera. I use Fine
Reader via Kurzweil and as a stand alone program on Windows and hoping
Fine Reader will make my switch that bit easier.
I can't imagine a portable device managing several scanned books with
their images.

Hello Gena,
Why would you want to use the camera on an i-device with ABBYY FineReader? Why
not just use Prizmo on the i-device to perform the OCR? Prizmo is much cheaper
than ABBYY FineReader and does a very good job.
Cheers,
Anne

Hello,
Would using the cameras on iDevices work? iPhone, Ipod Touch and iPads?
