Hello Gena,

I don't think you'll get a good enough image from an i-device to use with
FineReader on the Mac.

I use a Canon Lide 110 portable flatbed scanner with my Mac and ABBYY
FineReader does a good job. However, don't expect all the features of
FineReader for Windows. The Mac version is an express version and has no
preferences.

I can't personally compare it to the Windows version as I've never used Windows
at all, but I know that many people are disappointed by the lack of automation
when scanning on the Mac.

The OCR engine for Prizmo is Prizmo's own, as far as I know. There is a Prizmo
aplication for Mac, too, but it's much messier to use than FineReader.

Cheers,

Anne
