Hi Chris and Teresa, thank you guys for helping me out on learning how to open
up and a Dmg file! Audacity is installed! You guys are the greatest! I have
another question though, how do you copy a program into your applications
folder? Thanks again,
Blessings,
John

You can actually do a VO-shift-M and choose "open" from the contextual menu,
and it will open. You only have to do this once, and you'll get an initial warning
message, but after that, you'll be able to copy, open, etc.

Hi Johnny.
It sounds like you have the same security settings I have on my Mac, and I
chose not to change them. I recently tried to download a Mac program off the
Internet. Because I didn't get it from the App Store or an approved developer,
I got the same message you did. This didn't used to be, but I suspect this is a
new change. I never got this message until after the Apple employees got their
Macs hacked. Therefore, it sounds like you will need to decide whether you want
a program that Apple has not yet approved. For myself, I'm not going to do it.
some people have criticized Apple for keeping tight control over their
software. As for me, I say keep doing it apple. I'm perfectly happy for you
guys to do it; for myself, I'll paying you guys money to keep it up.

Gigi

Hi Christopher,
Well, I was able to get the Audacity folder on my desktop. However, after
opening that folder I see an Audacity applickkation file. But when I went to
copy that file to my applications folder I am stopped there. I am unable to
copy and paste that folder into the applications folder. Not only that but
whenever I have tried to invoke the Audacity application file, I am told that
the program is not able to be opened because of settings in my security
preferences. So when I when to change my security preferences, I was warned
that my new setting leaves the computer more vonerable to security breaches or
something like that... Then a message showed up saying that instead of
changeing my security preferences, that I could do a Control click on the
application and that I would then be able to invoke the program.
