Hi What kinds of things does your friend what to do with an iPhone/ipad? If all your friend wants to do is identify money, the iPhone is best. Howevwer, if your friend wants to use the iPad for any kind of productivity, such as composing anything of length, an iPad would serve your friend's needs better. Both items are equally accessible. The camera on the iPad is not as good as the one on the iPhone. I have never heard of tap tap see on an iPad. Not sure how well it would work.
