Not trying to state the obvious, but when you select the disk in the initial 
table are you selecting the volume, or the disk? For example, the usual volume 
is "macintosh HD" and that is not what you want to select. You must select the 
disk itself, which would be the manufacturer's name, like, Hitachi.
