Hello Antonio, The start up sound is the result of tests run at start up to indicate that your Mac is running okay and the OS is functioning properly. I just read on an Apple Support Communities forum post, also, that there is a different sound to indicate problems with RAM, as well, so that start up sound is apparently pretty important. I believe it was originally designed as a joke but must have since evolved.
