In preparation for getting a macBook Air, and running windows in a vm, I've made the following alterations to my keyboards using SharpKeys. I've set the right option key as capslock, and also, I've set the right windows key(right command) to right control key. I did the control key thing because I noticed in jaws help that the laptop layout sometimes requires control in conjunction with the jaws key, and it was too much of a stretch to use the left control with the right alt (jaws key).
So, on the bluetooth keyboard, I've got (left to right) function key control alt left windows key spacebar right control capslock. On the full-size USB keyboard, to the right of the spacebar, it's right windows key, capslock, right control. What are other VMWare users using for screenreader modifier key arrangements? I plan to use both NVDA and JAWS in laptop mode. P.S. I suppose one solution to the whole problem is to just carry around and plug in a full sized Apple USB keyboard, keeping screen readers set to desktop layout, but that sounds a little weird. -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "MacVisionaries" group.
