Sounds like the syncing issue is the most serious one. Is this just with gmail? And it is just a matter of a delay, is it, rather than not syncing properly at all?
Having the read/unread status and message count announced last would be a little annoying. Although, I tend to archive messages once they're read anyway so it wouldn't affect me too much. And I don't use the preview pain but just open messages with Command-O, so hopefully that wouldn't be a biggie either. I appreciate the info though.
