Just to report back. It's finished downloading and probably took about 3
hours. Once it hit about 60% it showed a time of 20 minutes left but that
soon reduced to about 12 minutes. Many thanks for all the help.

Yes. I guess that I'm spoiled. I've downloaded it twice now, once at home
and once for work computers and in both cases it took about 45 to 50
minutes. Internet speed is a big factor.

Later.

The time reporting isn't always accurate, and there will be fluctuations,
that have to do with your machine processing the download, as well as
fluctuations in your connection (all connections fluctuate. I'd plan on at
around 5 hours, as it could take up to that.

Thanks Tim. Can view it now, all good. Not so good is the time it will take.
It reckons its only done 28%, 1.86GB and has a fluctuating time remaining,
maybe a couple of hours. I will be waiting a long time. Let's hope it works.

Hi,

Press cmd-4 while in the App Store to bring up your Purchase History. You
can then Interact with the Purchases Table and navigate to the Mavericks row
to check its progress. It all depends on your network connection and how
busy Apple's servers are for how fast it will download. Note, though, that
Mavericks is about 5.29 GB so it could take a while.

Later.

Hi

I am currently downloading OSX Mavericks v 10.9. It keeps saying downloading
and tells me I am on a button that is dimmed. It has been nearly 2 hours. Is
this the usual time?

How do I found out how far I am through the downloading process, is there a
progress indicator I can find? I can't find any indication of progress.

Also, not related totally to mavericks, re downloading from the app store, I
was under the impression, from the documentation, that an icon of the app
that is downloaded, goes to the dock. This does not seem to be happening for
me. I can manually add to the dock from the application file. Any ideas
please would be appreciated.

Kind Regards
Janine
