Hi,

If these movies were purchased through iTunes, there is an even easier option.
As long as the “Show iTunes in the Cloud Purchases” checkbox is checked from
within the Store pane of iTunes Prefs, you can leave the movies up in the
iTunes Cloud and simply stream them to your device whenever you wish to watch
them. With that item checked, all items you’ve purchased through iTunes are
logged within the iTunes Apple servers, so as long as you have an Internet
connection, you can watch them. I do a similar thing in that I download all
iTunes purchases to my iMac but not to my MBP as it just couldn’t hold my
entire library. I have that item checked and still have access to all my
iTunes purchases on my laptop. Actually, with my iTunes Match subscription, I
have access to all my non-purchased music as well.

HTH.
