Hi, You don't need to buy Growl to do that, you can use Notification Center. I've set up a shortcut key to get me straight in there. as I have for Launchpad, F11 and F12 respectively as they are easy, and I disabled the existing functions to get rid of the conflicts. This is all done in the Keyboard Pane of System Preferences, in the Shortcuts tab.
