For my iMac Apple Care told me to turn it off, unplug all the cables (AC Power
cable, keyboard, USB cables etcetera) from the computer and leave it for a
minute before plugging it all back in and turning it on again. This fixed some
strange issues I was having (can't now remember what they were) but I was
really surprised that something so simple could fix such strange behaviour.
