Agreed, that is something Apple still needs to work on. Currently, it seems to 
tell you that you've landed on a popup menu if no value has been selected (i.e. 
it is an empty popup menu). Also, as soon as you've activated the popup menu 
and selected a value, VoiceOver announces itself as being on a popup menu and 
continues to do so so long as you don't navigate away from the cell. But once 
you've selected a value and navigated away from the cell, or if a value was 
already selected, it doesn't mention that it's a popup menu.
This seems like something we should pass on to Apple Accessibility, though I 
might play a little more to make sure I'm giving them accurate and useful 
information.
