Find a contact, cmd-l to edit. Once done, stop interacting twice, vi-right three times (at least on my system) and uncheck the 'done" checkbox. Then go find another contact and repeat. As Nick said, this is in group view, the only view I have ever used. In fact, I didn't know other views existed. :)
