Ok, I admit that I'm stumped by this as well. I went to "add alias", sure it 
was going to work. I even used VO-command-f4 to route the keyboard focus to the 
edit field for the alias. Still, the buttons are dimmed. I apologize for the 
misleading statements. I really was fooled that it would work. It's sort of ok 
for me now, because I have an iCloud address and a me.com address, and I'll 
just use my gmail and Yahoo for commercial stuff.

If anyone figures this out, I'd love to know how you did it. Otherwise, there 
is some more accessibility work to be done.
