New description:

 My laptop is a Toshiba-Satellite L25-S1213 with Fedora Core 5 test 2,
 Atheros AR5005G;

 I have downloaded the latest version of MadWifi:
 used:
 {{{
 svn checkout http://svn.madwifi.org/trunk madwifi-ng
 }}}
 and have tried the tar ball:
 {{{
 madwifi-ng-current.tar.gz    20-Feb-2006 02:42  3.0M
 }}}
 and after make; make install, the message shown on the screen is ok as
 shown ath0 and wifi0

 However I am unable to perform scan when using
 {{{
 iwlist ath0 scan
 }}}

 I have already used :"ifconfig ath0 up"

 even if I have used the "modprobe ath_pci rfkill=0"

 and have taped out the pin 13 on the card, the problem is still there?

 Do I need further information about the error?
 Thanks!

Comment:

 Did you follow the [wiki:UserDocs/Distro/RedHat instructions] for building
 and configuring MadWifi on Redhat/FC? What configuration did you apply to
 your card?

 Is there any error message when you try to scan? If yes: what message? If
 no: what else do you use to determine that it does not work?
