#862: installing kernel hangs system

I have a fedora 5 system running a vanilla 2.6.18-rc6 kernel
with madwifi-ng rev 1708 build out of tree. When the madwifi
modules are loaded and I do 'make install' in the *kernel*
source tree the system hangs. Only option is hard reset.
It works fine when the atheros modules are not
loaded.
