Maybe you can sniff the communcation between your card and the AP on the
802.11 layer. When I tried back in June using two VAPs on one card (one
VAP in sta mode and one in monitor mode) it didn't work. Maybe this issue
is fixed now. Back then I used a second WLAN card in a second notebook to
sniff the association process.
If you can capture the association process try to create a "clean" dump,
i.e. without any other wireless traffic. You can use tcpdump oder
Wireshark for capturing. Then compress the resulting file and attach it
here or mail it to me and I'll see if I can figure out the reason.
