Comment (by [EMAIL PROTECTED]):

The patch by Santiago Gala <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> fixes this problem on
PowerMacintosh and IXP platforms only. The relevant changes _appear_ to me
to have been included in late September 2006's changeset 1726 while moving
hal/linux/ah_osdep.h to ath_hal/ah_os.h, but for _all_ big endian
 architectures.

The dadwifi branch doesn't yet have this HAL change, and Santiago's patch
fixes it on my PowerBook using a Cardbus AR5212 (Netgear WG111T).

So I guess this bug has attracted two different actual bugs, one in the
Big-endian register read/write code, and one about disabled cards
reporting an unhelpful error message, with the former fixed in trunk for
 four months.
